About JS Motors Oxford
Over 50 Years of Garage History
Vehicle servicing and repairs have been carried out from our Station Field site in Kidlington for more than 50 years.
The site originally formed part of the goods yard of Kidlington railway station. Following the closure of the station in 1964, the land was developed into what became the Station Field Industrial Estate.
In 1967, Alan Rushworth and Robert Harbottle acquired the Cleenol Building on the site. The original building was demolished in 1969 and a workshop constructed in its place, parts of which still form the structure of the garage today.
Motor Vehicle Services was founded at the site in 1969 alongside MVS Transport. The workshop provided breakdown assistance, servicing and repairs for Thames Valley Police, the RAC and the AA, as well as local businesses and residents. Its work ranged from routine servicing to major mechanical repairs and engine rebuilds.
The garage continued to operate through several changes of ownership and became an MOT test station. In December 2014, Ben Walker and Eugene Forde, owners of JS Motor Services near Witney, acquired the garage and renamed it JS Motors Oxford.
A Long-Established Workshop
The Station Field Site
A garage workshop has operated from the same Station Field site since 1969.
MVS Transport
MVS Transport was established in 1968 and operated alongside the garage, later specialising in car transportation.
Motor Vehicle Services
The workshop was founded in 1969 by Alan Rushworth and Robert Harbottle and served Kidlington and the surrounding area for many years.
JS Motors Oxford
Ben and Eugene acquired the garage in December 2014, continuing more than five decades of motor vehicle services from the site.
The Garage Today
Following extensive renovation and continued investment, the Station Field workshop is now a modern, fully equipped garage and MOT test centre.
